Starcraft Custom Maps
Starcraft Custom Maps
Welcome to the custom maps section. Here we've built numerous custom scenarios to challenge solo, cooperative and competitive players alike.
Some of the maps are designed with long lasting "free-for-all" scenarios in mind, which are ideal for groups with a variance of skill-levels and amongst more casual friends. Other maps are built to cater towards team play, with clustered initial starting locals, and ideal resource placement for shared use. Finally, a few of the maps rely on custom map settings, to create challenging battles for a single player to fight against a computer opponent.
PvP Maps: Player V.S. Player - Maps designed for one player v.s another player, or equal groups of players. Tend to be expansion heavy, with finite resources to encourage aggressive growth.
TvT Maps: Team V.S. Team - Maps built for groups of players sharing one "faction." Since a group of players is sharing one resource pool and unit limit, the resource fields and initial locations tend to be close together to better facilitate team-work.
PvC Maps: Player V.S. Computer - Maps created for one player to battle the computer. Resources tend to be finite, and conditions difficult - conserving units and strategic asset management come to the foreground here.
FFA Maps: Free for All - These maps were composed to facilitate long lasting "king-of-the-hill" style play, and feature defensible start locations, and ample resources. Aggression must be tempered by prudence - committing a large force to an attack may leave one open to assault from a third party.

Tips for this Map:
The ultimate 8-player party map! Highly defensible start locations make turtling tempting, but a monster central resource node awaits those brave enough to weather the storm! Normal expansions require air travel to reach, and the map is littered with ramped platforms to increase the player's tactical options!
Super Blood-Bath

Tips for this Map:
The eternal classic is back - this time with some interesting new ways to control the map's center, and more minerals at the start location. Expansion geysers are more difficult to defend now, but siege tanks and guardians remain real fight-winners.
Silver's Killing Fields
• Size: 241(KB)
• Release: 9/17/15
• Revision: 10/11/15
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Jungle
• Gas: High
• Recomended: PvC, FFA
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
A classic re-imagined for 4 players v.s. 4 CPU's! The terrain is intentionally optimized to channel the computer to the players en-mass, and even veteran players will find themselves hard pressed to defeat the AI's before they are swamped from multiple directions. Expand and relocate your main to one of the Islands or raised platforms A.S.A.P.
Glittering Dunes
• Size: 201(KB)
• Release: 10/29/13
• Revision: 11/05/13
• Expansion Map: Yes
• Terrain: Desert
• Gas: High
• Recomended: TvT, FFA
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
This map is built to entertain a full group of eight for hours. Ultimately, to launch successful land attacks, the map's middle will have to be secured. While difficult, whoever holds the center commands both mobility and a winning resource advantage.
All Things Being Equal
• Size: 106(KB)
• Release: 11/24/02
• Revision: 05/01/12
• Expansion Map: Yes
• Terrain: Twilight
• Gas: High
• Recomended: FFA
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-6
Tips for this Map:
This map is all about posturing and a great air force. Cash is not unlimited so it will require you to get off your ass and expand. 3 Lucky fools will net the middle expansion and be in cash heaven for a while. Notice how each island is vulnerable to nukes, so they remain a viable solution to your woes. Missile turrets, Spore Colonies, and photon cannons are very effective from these island vantage points.
Lava Rumble
• Size: 201(KB)
• Release: 11/15/13
• Revision: 11/15/13
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Lava World
• Gas: High
• Recomended: TvT, FFA
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
This is a fiery eight player version of the classic Map "All Things Being Equal." Each player's starting island is open to supreme fortification - but without expansions, all hope of true victory is lost! Air power reigns supreme, but a fast drop might catch an opponent flat-footed!
Big Snow Hunters
• Size: 73.4(KB)
• Release: 02/11/99
• Revision: 08/03/12
• Expansion Map: Yes
• Terrain: Glacier Field
• Gas: High
• Recomended: PvP
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
A homage to the classic Starcraft scenario "Big Game Hunters" this map features a similar layout, and dual veins of nearly unlimited resources. Each starting local enjoys a raised ramp and a choke point - reminiscent of the map "Lost Temple," creating highly defensible positions, making for long, enjoyable games. Expect the big units to come into play here. Careful use of space is key to winning.
The Alamo '99
• Size: 126(KB)
• Release: 06/12/99
• Revision: 04/25/01
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Jungle
• Gas: High
• Recomended: TvT
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
This is a team map. You and your partner start close together, and must co-defend the same piece of real-estate. Expand far and wide as fast as you can manage on this map. Try to save your starting cash in case several of your expansions get nailed. Try to coordinate your attacks with a partner, hitting from two sides, and likewise, try to defend together. Watch for nukes, or use teamed spell castors to waist fleets.
Final War
• Size: 105(KB)
• Release: 11/12/98
• Revision: 10/09/12
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Platform
• Gas: medium
• Recomended: FFA
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
One of the first maps we created, Final War was initially made as a FFA battle map. Suffice to say, we've learned a lot since this map - but many of its design flaws do make for interesting play elements. It makes for an interesting LAN party map at any rate.
The Hunters - Deth Remix
• Size: 76.7(KB)
• Release: 07/06/99
• Revision: 09/15/00
• Expansion Map: Yes
• Terrain: Jungle
• Gas: High
• Recomended: PvP
• Use Map Settings: No
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1-8
Tips for this Map:
Again, this is a play off the popular "Hunters" series from blizzard. Their is more cash than in the official map, but, nowhere near the insanity of Big Game Hunters. The bases are easy to defend, so people will have plenty of time to tech their hearts out. The largest concern will be real-estate, especially for the space hungry terrans. Expansions are critical, and those who turtle will loose in the end. Terrans are good for quick tanks hits early on, be careful a protoss does NOT get a second race...
Deth Base: Alpha
• Size: 111(KB)
• Release: 01/29/00
• Revision: 03/11/00
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Space
• Gas: Medium
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 1
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
When playing Deth Base Alpha you want to use the early tech advantage to decimate computer expansions before you get swarmed. Now take them over and defend them so you have an economy capable of supporting the army you're capable of building. While your are at it, Kill New Gettysburg, it you're up for a challenge.
Deth Base: Alpha - Interior
• Size: 45.3(KB)
• Release: 02/15/00
• Revision: 07/27/01
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Installation
• Gas: None
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 4
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
The player VASTLY out numbers the computer, but it has the home court advantage, and a horde of lethal traps. There is no way to build more units, and only limited repair funds, so it becomes a nasty test of best micro management skills. If the aggressor looses all his units, it is game over. If the computer's leader dies, he looses. Remember to repair damaged units with scvs, every unit needs to count.
Deth Base: Beta
• Size: 136(KB)
• Release: 03/09/00
• Revision: 03/09/00
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Jungle
• Gas: Low
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
Remember to use your early tech advantage to buy upgrades. You're in the middle, so long term defense will be problematic, don't even try. On the bright side, the base is totally impervious to nukes/tanks, at least until you tun out of spider mines. Stay aggressive and try to wipe out a computer at the beginning. Be cautious of drops or heavy air attackers. You will want to expand into the burning wreckage of one of the computer's bases as fast as possible, as starting minerals are very limited.
Deth Base: Charlie
• Size: 130(KB)
• Release: 10/29/00
• Revision: 09/27/01
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Lava World
• Gas: Low
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
The computer will have a difficult time with any kind of land offensive against your base, but will quickly transition to heavy air. The tight nature of the air defenses will annihilate drops, but be cautious of heavy air attackers who could overwhelm or attack from out of range. As with all of these "base" maps, the player has rich veins, but few of them, so expand fast or die. Pay particular attention to the terrain, one can use it to molest other races with siege tanks.
Deth Base: Delta
• Size: 70.2(KB)
• Release: 11/14/01
• Revision: 12/20/01
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Wasteland
• Gas: Low
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
The player must not loose their land foothold or you will loose to unending waves of computers. Victory cannot be achieved without the cash on the mainland. The unlimited veins on the island are useful, but too few, and the player will be overpowered eventually if run off the continent. Try to get a good tank push going, with m&m backup. If things last beyond that, tech to nukes and get some Goliath's too.
Deth Base: Eta
• Size: 102(KB)
• Release: 02/16/01
• Revision: 02/20/01
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Twilight
• Gas: Medium
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
Air power or heavy drops are a requirement for this map. The player starts with plenty of starports, so use the build up time to get a powerhouse fleet. Use starting forces to smack down an opponent or two, but keep rebuilding. One may want to build additional starports if interested in capital ships. Keep the fleet strong to repel any ground hits, or better yet, build a few Goliaths and ghosts for home defense.
Deth Base: Gamma
• Size: 69(KB)
• Release: 03/25/01
• Revision: 03/25/01
• Expansion Map: No
• Terrain: Desert
• Gas: Medium
• Recomended: PvC
• Use Map Settings: Yes
• Challenge Points: 0
• Players: 1
Tips for this Map:
Build several barracks and machine centers outside your base, and use the computer's high positions against them. Lift off buildings and float them as spotters. Try to start blasting their geyser as fast as possible, keeping them pinned down. Expand in their expansions if possible, and get rich, especially if they are unable to get off their ledges.
