Diablo II Magi Find Tables
Jarulf's Magic Find Table
This is the current system used to determine diminishing returns for magic find equipment in Diablo II - the information was compiled by Jarulf years ago.
Magic Find in single player v108 has never worked at all. So if you are playing off of the Realms, you'll notice it being much much better now. On the realms, MF% has gone from full for everything to diminishing returns to find Rares/Sets/Uniques. You can see exactly how much in the table below. Thanks to Jarulf for the stats.
Magic Find | Magical * | Rares * | Set Items * | Uniques * |
0% | 0% | 0% | 0% | 0% |

1500% | 1500% | 520% | 468% | 312% |
>* The actual % that is applied towards finding each type of item. Magical is full, Rare/Set/Uniques are less.
Note: The maximum possible is a bit under 1300%, so the 1500% is just for comparison's sake.
The diminishing returns start after 100%, and really kick in past 200%. The result of these now is that most characters with decent equipment will have about the same MF for Uniques. 200% isn't that hard to put together, and you get 171% MF for Uniques at that point, while you need to go all the way to 700% to increase just 100% more on Uniques.
This is an odd way to modify this property, since really going all out for the huge MF is sort of pointless now, or not well-rewarded. It had been expected that MF would be lowered by a steady rate, so you'd still be rewarded as you went up and up, and it wouldn't be so easy to double or triple your total.
