Update 4.14.14: No More Free "Wacos." Let's Explain the Phrase...

Hat tip to:

Bill Quick at Daily Pundit for the initial headline, the WRSA currently chewing this with the tenacity of doberman pinchers, and J.M.B., who's this very minute en-rout to Nevada as our official "man-on-the-ground." More of us may be joining "the situation" as necessary.

For those of you new to revolution, let's do a recap of the ballgame thus far, courtesy of Richard Berkow at Biz-Pac Review:

Defiant Nevada rancher faces armed federal agents in escalating confiscation standoff

"A long-simmering dispute between a Nevada cattle rancher and the federal Bureau of Land Management has reached a boiling point, and participants have their fingers crossed it won't erupt into violence. cattleranch0409newtest"

"Since 1993, Cliven Bundy has been battling the agency, as well as the National Park Service, the Center for Biological Diversity and the courts, to graze his cattle on 150 square miles of Gold Butte scrub land in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. He stopped paying his grazing fees back then, saying he "fired" the Bureau of Land Management as land manager. His Mormon ancestors had tilled the unforgiving soil since 1887, long before the 1934 Taylor Grazing Act allowed the federal government to seize control, TheBlaze reported."

"I have raised cattle on that land, which is public land for the people of Clark County, all my life. Why I raise cattle there and why I can raise cattle there is because I have preemptive rights," he asserted, explaining to TheBlaze that this includes the right to forage, too."

"Furthermore, Bundy has argued that it is the United States trespassing on Clark County, Nev., land, not he, and that he is a better steward of the land. He points out that the manure from his cows fertilizes the soil, that he's built water sources for wildlife, and that his cattle prevent the vegetation from growing overly dense and creating a fire hazard."

"But environmentalists, federal officials and the courts disagree. Armed federal officials and contract cowboys have been brought in to execute a 2013 court order and remove the trespassing cattle."
- Richard Berkow

Soooooo.... in a nut-shell, the wardogs of FedGovCo have been sicced on the Bundy family for feeding their cows - at the behest of the usual Eco-Marxists, animal-rights nit-wits and autocratic paper pushers working for the BLM. We'd like to note, as an aside, that Cliven Bundy's family claim to the land predates the establishment of the BLM by a tad over a hundred years - (But hey, why not fist-rape ex post facto while we're running our liberty through a wood shipper-shredder?)

(By the way, speaking as a member of a ranching family, we were taught, by example and word, that it was proper manners to "spit" when speaking of the BLM's thugs).

The pretext for this "bold show of force?" (Beyond the government giving the Bundy's a lesson in contract law circa "Plains Indian Wars?")

"Allegedly," the quasi-military strike unit BLM is saving some Goddamned turtles. Oh but it gets BETTER. (You did catch that "allegedly" part - right?) The turtles in question? The jack-boots at ye-olde-Bureau-of-Land-Management have been EXTERMINATING the little fuckers.

Naturally, the "measured" course of action on the FedStasi's part is to confront the unassuming ranchers with a team of snipers, two hundred armed agents, a tank, and hired mercenaries to rustle and sell the "choice" picks of the heard, (while shooting the rest).

A lack of due-process? Fourth Amendment violations you say? Why bother counting that far serfs? The Federal Nazi's, (complete with brown shirts), decided to take a giant shit on 1A before they even began axe-murdering your precious little bill-of-rights. To wit:

freedom and liberty America

Oh... you don't like that? Go "seek redress of your grievances" in your cordoned off little "first-amendment-zone" You fucking peasants.

Unless the Stormtroopers feel like ruckusing you up a bit...

...we here at Deth H.Q. can't help but wonder... how well will the federal Stooges fare this time when they are getting shot from bow AND stern?

Now, we understand a great many of you kiddies out there might not remember those "messes" out at Waco and Ruby Ridge - back in the misty days of yore, under ol'Billy-Two-Cigars - where Mordor's forces killed a whole lot of women and children, (some with lead - most with fire). It was a catalyzing moment for the nation - black clad Mall-ninja's descending on American citizens and slaughtering them in brutal ways.

The butchery left an indelible impression.

muricaAfter living through those unnecessary massacres, plenty of souls turned a jaundiced eye towards the roaches infesting the federal government. It didn't matter that David Koresh was a raving nutter - or Randy Weaver was a "skeery survivalist type." The fact is, appendages of the United States federal government willfully roleplayed jack-boot clad Nazi's, and escalated insignificant situations into travesties. (And in the end, the courts agreed with that assessment).

Many folks 'round these parts swore they'd never again sit around while Sauron's minions used "acceptable targets" for... well... target-practice.

The visceral reaction you're seeing to the Bundy family's persecution dear readers, is from people who remember standing slack jawed in horror as the BATF burned down the Davidian compound. Fellers who watched Headline News and CNN as Weaver's wife and kids were shot to pieces by FBI snipers.

Back when that all went down, quite a few people swore they'd never again sit idle while their government acted the part of tyrants - hence the phrase "No More Free Wacos." Those militiamen and chaps heading down to Nevada packing heat? Well, as it turns out... they took that vow pretty damn seriously. FedGovCo and their heeling lapdogs ignore this resolve at their peril.

To put it another way: Given the numbers descending on Bunkerville - if those idiots at the BLM kick this off, (and they're stupid enough to), they'll need the National Guard to save their asses.

As the saying goes - "We shall watch this unfold with great interest."

Update II: Link Parade

As the press and pundits begin to wake up as to what's going on here, we shall be collecting their musings and reactions to the growing powder-keg.

- The First Amendment is Not an Area
Steynonline

"Indeed. The "First Amendment Area" is supposed to be something called "the United States". If the Bureau of Land Management gets to determine which sliver of turf you can exercise your right to freedom of expression in, then it isn't freedom of expression at all, is it?

"...it's extraordinary that even twerp bureaucrats from the Department of Compliance feel comfortable setting up an "orange plastic pen" labeled "First Amendment Area". If an anonymous pen-pusher in the permanent bureaucracy can confine the Bill of Rights to tiny enclaves where it will be entirely ineffectual, then there is no Bill of Rights."
- Mark Steyn

So far down the rabbit hole here in the USS of A that we have a poor exiled Brit lamenting how far we've fallen from our once great providence. Welcome to 1984.

- Commissioner Warns Bundy Supporters: You Better Have Funeral Plans
Daily Pundit

oathbreaker Nuremberg rules apply here "Tom." Sleep lightly. Oathbreaker.
"Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins has caused outrage by remarking that Utahns planning to travel to Nevada to support Cliven Bundy in his standoff against the feds "better have funeral plans."

"The comments were revealed by Darin Bushman, a Piute County, Utah, commissioner after he spoke with Collins about Utah ranchers and his colleagues on the County Commission complaining about tactics used by Bureau of Land Management agents during their seizure of Bundy's cattle in southern Nevada."

"I was just told by commissioner Collins of Clark County NV that all of us folks from Utah are a bunch of "inbred bastards" and if we are coming to Clark County NV to support Cliven Bundy we all "better have funeral plans". We should "turn our asses around on mind our own f-ing business". Now there's some classy leadership for you," wrote Bushman on his official Facebook page."
- Via Bill Quick

As "students of history," we here at Deth H.Q. would like to take a moment to "caution" Commissar Collins - When instigating a Civil War, it's wise for ALL coequal participants to have their affairs in good order. The Reich's lower echelons especially so.

- Collins manages to insult Utahns with comments on Bundy roundup
Las Vegas Review Journal

"Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins fears the dispute at Cliven Bundy's ranch that has drawn protesters from across state lines might turn violent."

"So when Collins talked this week with a county commissioner in Utah who said others are coming to Southern Nevada to support the Bundys, he did what he usually does: He spoke his opinion without mincing words or worrying if he offended someone."

"Those comments are now making the rounds on social media and have attracted criticism from people ranging from Utah ranchers to his colleagues on the County Commission."

"It started when Darin Bushman, a Piute County, Utah, commissioner, called Collins about the Bureau of Land Management roundup of Bundy's cattle in the Gold Butte area, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. The cattle are being seized after Bundy failed to pay grazing fees over 20 years. When the conversation ended, Bushman posted on Facebook that Collins said Utahns are "inbred bastards" and if they come to Clark County to support Bundy they "better have funeral plans." Collins also told Bushman that they should mind their "own (expletive) business."

"Now that's some classy leadership for you," Bushman wrote in his post."
- Ben Botkin

Insult? Yeah... sure... "insult." Let's go with that... if of course, by "insult," you mean "threaten to kill." Practically synonyms... we guess...

Arizona State Militia

Arizona State Militia has sent a forward operating recon group to the location in Nevada to monitor the situation in person. They are currently on site.

We are currently under mobilization and are staging battalions north.

While we will not disclose our operational details publicly in regards to this event in any great detail, we are actively planning and engaging in efforts to support everyone supporting the rally in Nevada.

Boots are on the ground! We can also confirm the safe arrival of J.M.B. - who has noted that they are sleeping in his camper - due to the hotels being booked up. Those of you looking to join the "coalition of the willing" had best have lodging plans that don't involve renting anything. Rumor has it FedGovCo has been booking rooms in excess of what they need to limit lodging options for the patriots and militias arriving at the theater of operations.

(Another quick note - the Bundy family has requested that those of you showing up please not wear cameo or BDU. Remember: This is a P.R. and image war being fought here too. Dress professionally, be courteous always, bring your heat, bring your fatigues - just stash said items in your BoV until warranted.)

Plenty of useful stuff there... the play by play, and bless our-stars-and-garters, look at all the pieces falling together. Quite a few monied interests here... ain't that just fucking quaint, we say, with zero shock. From our way of thinking, the vulture corporatists slithering beneath this travesty are on par with the war profiteers that swung in '46. We certainly hope they don't believe themselves "untouchable" if this goes pear-shaped... though nobody will work to dissuade them of the notion...

- The Real Story Behind The Bundy Ranch Harassment The Dana Show

"A tortoise isn't the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher. They want his land. The tortoise wasn't of concern when Harry Reid worked BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise's habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore. Whittemore was convicted of illegal campaign contributions to Senator Reid. Reid's former senior adviser is now the head of BLM. Reid is accused of using the new BLM chief as a puppet to control Nevada land (already over 84% of which is owned by the federal government) and pay back special interests. BLM has proven that they've a situational concern for the desert tortoise as they've had no problem waiving their rules concerning wind or solar power development. Clearly these developments have vastly affected a tortoise habitat more than a century-old, quasi-homesteading grazing area. If only Clive Bundy were a big Reid donor."

"BLM has also tried to argue that the rules have changed, long after Bundy claims he secured rights and paid his dues to Clark County, Nevada. BLM says they supersede whatever agreement Bundy had prior; they demanded that he reduce his living, his thousand-some-odd head of cattle down to a tiny herd of 150. It's easy for the government to grant itself powers of overreach, but it doesn't make it right. Many bad things are done in the name of unjust laws. Just look at Obamacare. This heavy-handed tactic has run the other ranchers from the area and now Bundy is the last one. He's the last one because he stood up to the federal government."
- Dana Loesch

Update III: Going Completely the Fuck Off the Rails...

Everything is spiraling out of control - fast. If the Federal Government had BRAIN ONE in their collective mush-skulls, they'd tuck their tail betwixt their forelegs, scurry off and busy themselves with something besides overt tyranny. But sadly - for all parties - they seem to lack brains and cherish oppression. A pair of traits that, when coupled with angry and well armed American patriots, will certainly end well for everyone involved.

Make no mistakes - this thing is ENTIRELY about control now. It was never about "range fees" and Goddamned turtles - and now with some of Mordor's junior Officers getting a humiliation-conga-line, the show has gone from "crony capitalism" to "the taking of scalps" and "a grandiose display of power."

Serfs need to understand their place - and examples will be made. But possibly not of the sort the government expects...

- BLM Rangers Brought in From Out of State for Nevada Ranch 'Emergency'
The Washington Free Beacon

"Armed Rangers were brought in from out of state by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to assist in security surrounding the Bundy Ranch, according to the family."

"A heated confrontation on Wednesday resulted in Cliven Bundy's son Ammon being tasered by BLM officials and a 57-year-old protester being shoved to the ground."

"Stetsy Bundy Cox, Cliven's daughter, told the Washington Free Beacon that some of the rangers had Oregon and California license plates."

"You know, some of these guys don't even know why they're here," she said. "A few people have talked to them and they got called in here on an emergency feed and they didn't know what it was for, it just said they had to be here."

"They're almost like a hired gun," Cox said. "Because what they're supposed to do is they each have a road, and are told to stay on that road, and they're supposed to keep people off that road, whatever means possible. That's their job. They don't even know how many cows have been gathered."

"The BLM did not respond to requests for comment by press time."
- Elizabeth Harrington

So then... when your local Stasi start balking at the orders to "shoot up all the puny serfs" (knowing full well that once FedGovCo's tanks ship out they'll get "theirs"), it becomes time to haul in the Hessians. Maybe some thugged-up California wanna-be-operators will pull the trigger while your local minions scoff.

How ever so cute, we need to admit we're chuckling a bit. One simple fact seems to have escaped Sauron's middle-management here - they DO understand this mindset cut's both ways... right?

We have confirmed this information to be fairly accurate. J.M.B. thinks "1,000" might be a bit much, but says the town is crawling with folks, so a legit count is sketchy at best. Note he's having problems with Team-Mobile wireless internet and Phone connectivity. We don't know if that's due to location or perhaps the load on cell towers, so heads up folks en-rout, there are logistical concerns to fret over.

- Militias head to Nevada rancher's standoff with feds: We're not 'afraid to shoot'
The Washington Times

"Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy's decades-long battle against the federal government over grazing rights has heated to the point where militia groups have joined in and taken up spots against the feds who've circled his land - and talk is, they're not afraid to open fire."

"A spokesman for the one of the militia groups said as much to local 8 News Now: I'm not "afraid to shoot," he said."

"Margaret Houston, Mr. Bundy's sister and a cancer survivor, said at a town hall gathering this week that the situation "was like a war zone" and that she felt "like I was not in the United States," The Daily Mail reported."

"The Las Vegas Review-Journal described it this way: "Serious bloodshed was narrowly avoided," in a story about how dogs were unleashed on a woman who was pregnant while the rancher's son was hit with a taser."

"On Tuesday, armed Bureau of Land Management agents stormed Mr. Bundy's property, escalating a court dispute that's wound for two decades over the rancher's refusal to pay for grazing fees."
- Cheryl K. Chumley

Wow... a member of the mainstream-media covering this finally? Impossible!?!

We'd figured they'd at least have held off till FedGovCo snipers shot Mr. Bundy's unarmed wife to death "Weaver-style" before noticing the building catastrophe. Of course, since the family in question is of the wrong "religious, ethnic, socioeconomic and political mindset" we don't expect that the worthless media shit-swillers will go lift a finger to paint any Federal misdeeds in an ill light. Or at all.

The feds getting scared? Or clearing the air-space for attack helicopters? They'd do well to be VERY careful with regards to what birds they put in the sky. In our opinion, if Mordor brings out warbirds, by June there will be open civil war or outright revolution.

You can quote us on that later.

- Ripples of Nevada Range Showdown Spreading in West The Blaze

"LAS VEGAS (AP) - Images of a forced cattle roundup on a rural Nevada range sent ripples through the West on Friday, prompting elected officials in several states to weigh in, militia members to mobilize and federal land managers to reshape elements of the operation."

"Bureau of Land Management officials dismantled designated protest areas Thursday and Nevada's governor urged calm as the fight over rancher Cliven Bundy's cattle widened into a debate about states' rights and federal land-use policy."

"The dispute that triggered the roundup dates to 1993, when the BLM cited concern for the federally protected tortoise. The agency later revoked Bundy's grazing rights."

- Stolen Cattle Turned Away in Utah and Nevada

Relevant Part:

"In addition to the notice Washington, Iron and Beaver counties all passed resolutions over the past three days ordering the BLM not to transport Bundy's confiscated cattle through the three jurisdictions to take them to R Livestock in Monroe. The company was contracted with the federal government to sell the livestock."

"Protestors from several Utah counties picketed the Richfield-area auction house Wednesday to show their objection to owner Scott Robins selling Bundy's cattle, which received no bids."

"The counties' resolutions also urged the BLM not to sell Bundy's cattle in Utah and requested that if residents protest that they remain peaceful and abide by laws."

"We don't want them going through our county," said Washington County Commissioner Alan Gardner. "This is a Nevada issue, and it needs to stay there."

"Washington County Sheriff Cory Pulsipher said he is concerned about the cattle being brought this county and has been working overtime with county commissioners to do what they can to address the issue."

"I don't think Utah should be dragged into the middle of this," he said. "The BLM is going to have to stop at the port of entry, and they're going to be met with protestors - mad protestors - and then I've got to worry about the potential risk to my deputies and all because they're bringing us into an issue that isn't ours to begin with."

"Gov. Gary Herbert also voiced his opposition of the cattle being auctioned in Utah through his chief of staff, Mike Mower, who said Herbert believed Bundy's issue is Nevada's issue and should remain there."

"The BLM is bringing the cattle to Utah after being turned away from auction houses in Nevada."

No cooperation with Federal goons. Do not aid them, do not comfort them. They are the enemies of a free people at this point. Tyrants deserve no respite. If they wish the "shunning" to stop, they can fucking stop acting "unclean."

- The Turtle Rebellion?
J. D. Longstreet

"In a later report we learn: "In the wake of the publicized protests, members of various militia groups have been traveling from Virginia, Texas, Montana, Idaho and Wisconsin and arriving at the protest site and Bundy's ranch to support the family, said Stephen L. Dean, 45, of Utah, a member of one such group called the Peoples United Mobile Armed Services."

"Underlying the whole dispute is the environmental movements efforts to preserve the habitat of a little heard of desert tortoise."

"Don't laugh! Today it's a turtle. Originally, it was tea. All revolutions have a tipping point. The point at which the people say, this far and no farther! Bundy's ranch may be the next Lexington."
- J. D. Longstreet

Don't worry Mr. Longstreet. Nobody is laughing. Nobody at all. The joke's mean, it's not particularly clever and no one thinks it's very damn funny either. But you are correct - the whole mess is a farcical mockery of a sham.

- Into the Whirlwind
T.L. Davis

"There are moments in history where the people have the upper hand, this is one. If the feds think they can come in, confiscate property and brutalize citizens for asking questions and filming officers, it is time to demand reparations. The cattle must be returned and the officers guilty of these crimes must be made to suffer the consequences of their actions. Taking that tack is important. There is a chance to show the feds for who they are and use their aggression against them."

"In the hearts of many Americans who are not on the front lines of the struggle for liberation from this tyrannical government is a deep sense of dread. They are getting a good view of what they have always known, but never wanted to confront. It is a chance to drive those silent supporters into the daylight."

...

"The dynamic is simple: forcing officers to expose their brutality is the key to success. More is done to cement a movement, a cause, by this method than any other. They are the willing contributors to their own demise, if you will let them. Film everything." - T.L. Davis

The patriots who died at Lexington were restrained and composed to the very end. They forced the British to remove the mask - to cast aside their very mandate and legitimacy. Their defiance caused the Redcoats to revel in their tyranny. The result was a very many dead patriots - and the legitimate justification for war. Do not easily surrender virtue - T.L. is correct in this insistence. Make the Federal Mercenaries display their villainy to the world. The import of the Moral High Ground is not to be undersold.

The servants of evil are monsters at heart. Help them be the architects of their own unveiling.

The barricades are set up to ensure a vehicle can't penetrate the main gate. They even have a dump truck parked across the entrance to the compound - to further prevent a VBIED attack?"

"As I drove further down the road I could see flood lights illuminating the dry riverbed. It appears they have an inner and outer perimeter and a third perimeter of early warning equipment. The LEO compound is more than a compound. It is a fire base, pure and simple."

The orc legions appear to be packing up their shit and slithering back to Mordor. Information as we receive it below:

- BLM ends Bundy cattle roundup, citing safety issues
KSNV NBC News 3

"BUNKERVILLE (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The gathering of rancher Cliven Bundy's cattle in northeast Clark County has been stopped by the director of the Bureau of Land Management."

"The BLM announcement came as Bundy was meeting with Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie about the week-long dispute."

"The BLM had been using contract cowboys to round up Bundy's 900 head of cattle that have been grazing over 600,000 square acres in northeast Clark County for more than 20 years without his payment of grazing fees."

"As of Friday they had secure 389 cattle from the Gold Butte area, nearly 90 percent of them marked with the Bundy Ranch brand."

"New BLM Director Neil Kornze made the following statement this morning:"

"As we have said from the beginning of the gather to remove illegal cattle from federal land consistent with court orders, a safe and peaceful operation is our number one priority. After one week, we have made progress in enforcing two recent court orders to remove the trespass cattle from public lands that belong to all Americans."

"Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public."

- Nevada Cattle Rancher Wins 'Range War' With Feds
ABC News

"A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters.

"Cliven Bundy went head to head with the Bureau of Land Management over the removal of hundreds of his cattle from federal land, where the government said they were grazing illegally."

"Bundy claims his herd of roughly 900 cattle have grazed on the land along the riverbed near Bunkerville, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, since 1870 and threatened a "range war" against the BLM on the Bundy Ranch website after one of his sons was arrested while protesting the removal of the cattle."

"I have no contract with the United States government," Bundy said. "I was paying grazing fees for management and that's what BLM was supposed to be, land managers and they were managing my ranch out of business, so I refused to pay."

"The federal government had countered that Bundy "owes the American people in excess of $1 million " in unpaid grazing fees and "refuses to abide by the law of land, despite many opportunities over the last 20 years to do so."

"However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area."

U.S. agency ends Nevada cattle roundup after stand-off Reuters

"(Reuters) - The U.S. Bureau of Land Management on Saturday said it had called off an effort to round up a rancher's herd of cattle that it had said were being illegally grazed in southern Nevada, citing concerns about safety."

"Based on information about conditions on the ground and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public," BLM director Neil Kornze said in a statement."

"The showdown between rancher Cliven Bundy and U.S. land managers had brought a team of armed federal rangers to Nevada to seize the 1,000 head of cattle."

"The unusual roundup became a flashpoint for anti-government groups, right-wing politicians and gun-rights activists. Hundreds of Bundy supporters, some heavily armed, camped on the road leading to his ranch in an arid high desert spotted with sagebrush and mesquite trees. Some held signs reading "Americans united against government thugs," while others were calling the rally the "Battle of Bunkerville," a reference to a American Revolutionary War battle of Bunker Hill in Boston."

"When the news of the BLM's decision was read out, the group erupted in cheers."

"In an interview prior the BLM's announcement, Bundy said he was impressed by the level of support he had received."

"I'm excited that we are really fighting for our freedom, we've been losing it for a long time," Bundy said. "I used to pay grazing fees but I fired the BLM."

We have to say, this is a proud moment for American Patriots. The government said "Boo!" The liberty minded responded by chambering a cartridge.

- Statement from Director of the Bureau of Land Management Neil Kornze on the Cattle Gather in Nevada
BLM Website - Hat-tip WRSA

"As we have said from the beginning of the gather to remove illegal cattle from federal land consistent with court orders, a safe and peaceful operation is our number one priority. After one week, we have made progress in enforcing two recent court orders to remove the trespass cattle from public lands that belong to all Americans."

"Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public."

"We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner."

"Ranching has always been an important part of our nation's heritage and continues throughout the West on public lands that belong to all Americans. This is a matter of fairness and equity, and we remain disappointed that Cliven Bundy continues to not comply with the same laws that 16,000 public lands ranchers do every year. After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially."
- Director of the BLM Neil Kornze

- U.S. Officials End Tense Standoff Between Nevada Rancher, Federal Government
The Blaze

"A tense standoff between a local Nevada rancher and the federal government concluded Saturday, with U.S. officials citing public safety concerns as they ended a controversial week-long cattle roundup that drew nationwide attention."

"Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public," Neil Kornze, director of the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, said in a statement."

Contact with J.M.B. - his cell died. Says the environment on the ground is pure joy. He says "rumor on the street" has it the feds were told by the Nevada governor that they'd get no state LEO or NG backup if they went in guns akimbo. We'll note that we've not confirmed this through any other sources, so again, put as much stock in the here-say as you paid for it.

- BLM Retreats From Bundy Ranch... For Now, At Least.
Bearing Arms

"This sounds as if the BLM were worried about the possibility for violence as more arms citizens were arriving in opposition to the federal government's efforts."

"This is is a wise withdrawal by the federal government, as tensions were only escalating around Bunkerville. This does not remotely mean that the underlying conditions have changed in the least, however. The BLM still maintains that the Bundy Ranch is illegally grazing cattle on public lands, and the Bundy family still maintains that their grazing rights precede and supersede anything since mandated by the BLM.

"Consider this a "time out. We'll have more on the (temporary?) deescalation of the situation as events become more clear."
- Bob Owens

Deal reached; BLM will release confiscated cattle to rancher
ABC KLAS TV 8

"A deal has been reached between Bundy family leaders and the BLM, but not without some very tense moments."

"Armed Bundy family leaders met with BLM officers Saturday afternoon in Mesquite to discuss the fate of the Bundy's cattle that the feds removed from BLM land, over the past week. The cattle are being held at a holding area in Mesquite."

Prior to the meeting, hundreds of protesters, some armed, tried storming the BLM's cattle gate, but weren't successful. The crowd was urged to wait 30 minutes and give both sides a chance to talk. An agreement was reached that the cattle will be released to the Bundy family later Saturday."

Update V: Bundy Insurrection Post Mortum

The dust is settling, plenty of folk are now analyzing what happened. Let's have a peek...

- Just got off the phone with Ammon Bundy. BLM's big skedaddle.
Sipsey Street Irregulars

"When the Bundys and their friends went to collect the cattle and confronted the armed BLM thugs, Ammon says, the Clark County deputies did a great job of defusing the situation. The demand was given that BLM had a half hour to get out of the way, or the people were coming through. Within thirty minutes, vehicles began exiting the compound where the cattle roundup had been happening. Within an hour, all the BLM had run -- run, mind you -- to their vehicles and "unassed the AO" in a convoy that eventually amounted to over 100 vehicles. As has been reported, the crowd saluted them as they passed."

"Left behind were trailers, generators, personal equipment scattered all over the ground and internal BLM documents left on the table where they had been branding the cattle. It was a great skedaddle, Ammon says. The BLM had to hire contractors to come back and clean up the mess.

"I congratulated Ammon and told him that this was perhaps a pivotal moment in American history. He also agreed with me that it is impossible not to see the hand of God in all of this. I told him that it was my opinion that the empire would surely strike back, but that they would likely come at the Bundys and their supporters sideways next time. Still, it was a great victory, a pivotal moment, in the relationship between the federal government and the American people. Nothing will be quite the same after this, mostly because it has demonstrated to those whom the government would victimize that they only require someone with the guts to stand up to leviathan -- and the armed friends to back them up in the argument."

Bearing Arms

"In the end, the Second Amendment merely codifies a pre-existing right of self defense. It is the belief of most governments in this world that such a right doesn't exist, or if it does, it only exists to the extent that the government allows it. We are nearly unique in the modern world in our belief that the citizenry has the constitutional right to armed self defense even against the government itself."

"The Second Amendment is the right that terrifies statists the most."

"They have done much to circumscribe and control every other right, but as long as the citizenry is armed with firearms of contemporary military utility (generally speaking, semi-automatic firearms, especially rifles they like to describe as "assault weapons"), there exists the unmistakable fact that we are citizens, we are militiamen, and we are not subjects."
- Bob Owens

- Bureau Of Land Management Versus Cliven Bundy Post Mortem
The Captain's Journal

"I had previously mentioned that I would not weigh in on Cliven Bundy. I usually like to read my homework very carefully. I don't know Cliven Bundy and he doesn't know me. I know little about his family and his history, but fortunately for us, this has all been made very easy.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with tortoises or grazing fees. Dana Loesch has done a good job of explaining it, and by now it has made its way to several other venues. It has to do with evil, greed, cronyism, nepotism, and malfeasance in office."
- Herschel Smith

- So What To Make Of the BLM In Nevada?
Karl Denninger

"The apparent beginning of this came when the BLM decided many years ago that a specific endangered tortoise meant it could seize land from Nevada and "protect" it -- land that historically (and the history is very, very long, apparently dating back to the 1870s!) had been used by Bundy's family to graze cattle."

"There's an inherent problem here with Federalism that nobody appears to be taking on face-first, and that's no surprise. First principles no longer seem to be principles at all when it comes to this nation. Mr. Bundy's refusal to recognize what amounted to federalization of land his family had used in a non-destructive and renewable fashion, and to which he had made material improvements over the years without trying to claim exclusive rights, facially appears to be rather reasonable in light of the totality of the circumstances."

"BLM claims that Bundy owes the government over $1 million in "grazing fees." But BLM arguably owes Bundy for the appreciated value to the land that his improvements conferred and which they confiscated; the 5th Amendment prohibits this sort of "taking" without compensation. How does this all pencil out? I don't know -- we don't have an accurate accounting and nobody is looking at that angle of this dispute at all."

"Then there is the attempted impoundment and impending destruction of the cattle that BLM tried to implement. There were allegations that BLM intended to not just remove the cattle but steal and sell them into the commercial meat market, an act for which nobody has produced anything approaching judicially-valid process to back up. An order to remove (which a judge allegedly issued) is not the same thing as an order to seize and dispose."

"Note carefully that cattle rustling has historically been an offense over which one can get shot. And theft is theft no matter who commits the offense; absent a judicial order of seizure and disposal, which BLM has not produced, that is in fact exactly what they did."
- Karl Denninger

- A small victory: got your militia right here, you bastards
Cold Fury

"This is what it is. This is what it means. And this-combating tyrants, maintaining what little freedom we have left-is what it's for. It's the only response any of us really needs to give to the gun-grabbers who are always so smugly inquiring just how the hell we think we'd ever be able to stand up to federal despotism anyway. Bravo to everyone involved in this courageous show of defiance towards our would-be masters. To hell with those masters; they haven't won just yet, not completely, although I'd caution against assuming this is all over."

...

"As for the backstory to all this-the REAL one, that is, not the bullshit FederalGovCo is shoveling in hopes of burying the sordid truth-Dana Loesch has it. The Imperial Federal Government's motivation here might not be what you expect. Or, no, strike that; it's exactly what you ought to have expected: it's a story of skullduggery, dishonesty, federal greed, abuse of excessive power, use of a supposedly "endangered" species (which really isn't endangered at all) for propaganda purposes, and the revolting, marrow-deep corruption of one Harry Fucking Reid, quite possibly the most loathsome crawly thing ever to befoul the rancid sewer that is American politics. To call him a giant scumwad is to offer gross insult to oversize wads of scum. In sum: "Cliven Bundy's problem isn't that he didn't pay - he did - or that his cattle bother tortoises - they don't - it's that he's not a Reid donor." You can imagine my surprise, I'm sure."
- Mike Hendrix

- Of Course Nevada Rancher Bundy Broke the Law: So What?
Daily Pundit

"The law is like any other weapon: Its nature depends upon its use. The law can be used to protect liberty - our Constitution and Bill of Rights, supposedly the highest law in our land - are a good example of this function of the law."

"Conversely, the law can be, and often is, used as an agency of tyranny. All tyrants know and understand this. They control their legal systems, and use that control to make their every tyrannical desire and action legal, their every depredation against liberty and decency entirely lawful."

"How happy that must make the law-and-order types: They murdered the father, raped the mother, sold the children into slavery, and took everything they had, but it was entirely legal. Oh, good. No problem, then."
- Bill Quick

We could not have said it better ourselves. We, the patriots, collectively choose to piss on your tyrannical mockery of justice. We will unabashedly do so until the collectivists stop using "law" as a weapon, the government collapses, or we as a nation are forced to start putting one anther's heads on pikes. Rest assured - the Patriots won't start it Prog-Nazis. That said, we do believe in a doctrine of radically disproportional retribution if you do.

Line's drawn Statists. Step over it and we'll burn this card-house nation down around you. Choose wisely.

Our Take:

The dust is settling. The moonbats are clenching their sphincters in impotent rage. It would seem that, despite their protests to the contrary, they truly do love themselves some bloodshed. Purveying a few of the usual suspects, (such as the moronic KOS Kiddies and the apoplectic Huff'n Puffers), it's pretty obvious the leftists are dismayed that the big black boot of the state wasn't used to smash some patriots into fine paste. It's not death and killing that upset a liberal. They love it - so long as some pencil-dicks in $15,000.00 suits approved of the carnage - and the deed is carried out, on the "deserving," by state sanctioned kill squads.

At that point, the American Commies like the slaughter just fine.

EA000076But they were not alone in their savagery - oh no.

A large number of the neo-cons infesting the right-wing of the bullshit FUSA legislative paradigm were just as incensed - braying like whipped mules for the badge-encrusted "law enforcement" thugs to rev-up some Bearcats and cut loose with the Afgan War surplus. "IT'S THE LAW!!!!" they screeched - with all the the Northeastern-carpet-bagging righteous indignation they could muster. Never mind that the "legal" standing of this whole farce was far, far FAR from "settled." Even if it had been, this assault by the BLM, (and by extension, the Federal Government), was an exercise in unadulterated tyranny, that any just man or woman was right to oppose.

Or do we need to remind the Gentry Caste RePubics that the exterminations by Pol Pot, Milosevic, Mao, Stalin, Hitler and Sindikubwabo were all "perfectly legal" as well?

To all of you, the sniveling callow boot-lickers of the statist left and right - you useless, miserable fucks - who strangle personal freedom beneath your evil, centrally planned delusions - we here at Deth H.Q. would like to say:

"Oh... that's too fucking bad. Your tears are a sweet ocean of amber mead. Your wails and lamentations are akin to a joyous symphony - composed by Frederic Chopin and performed by a choir of arc-angels. We laugh at your unjustified faith in your wholly corrupt system of government, which exists now only to aggrandize itself and wallow in the unjustly stolen riches of the people it was constructed to safeguard.

We're laughing at your pretensions and hurling well earned one-finger salutes as your chicken-shit war-dogs slink home - beaten. From the bottom of our freedom loving hearts - we'd like to invite the Statists infesting the United States Federal Government - and all their supplicant quisling butt-hole-lickers - to kindly go fuck themselves into oblivion. Eat shit douche-mongers. We'll see all you chicken-shits next time you try and trample liberty. We ain't going anywhere.

You are.
