For the third time in the last nine months, somebody – or somebodies – have been tapping FedGovCo on the shoulder, and pointing at the 6,000 pound elephant in the room:

FBI investigating ‘military-style’ attack on California power plant
“While Target confirmed today that debit PIN numbers were compromised in a massive cyber attack that put customer data on the black market, the FBI is currently investigating an apparent real-world attack on a San Jose power plant from earlier this year. According to Foreign Policy, it’s possible that two unidentified gunmen fired “military-style” weapons at transformers at the San Jose PG&E substation in an act some see as sabotage.”

“The gunmen attacked the facility on April 16th, taking down ten transformers and three transformer banks at the time. Though the resulting outages were minor, they did briefly knock out landline, 911, and cell service. Initially, the raid was seen as an act of vandalism, but investigators now worry that the attack shows a level of sophistication that might signal future ones. However, though surveillance footage was released in an effort to track down the gunmen, no one has stepped forward.”

In our opinion, what you’re seeing here is one of three things:

A: This might be “shot across the bow” – not unlike a rattle-snake, this might have been a dry-bite. Quite a few folks – of all stripes and political affiliations – are getting completely fed up with Mordor’s bullshit. Find a constituency that’s not pissed off right now – we dare you. If you’re compiling a list of folks with motive, you might as well just start at “A” in the phone book.

B: Possibly, these attacks are simply trial runs – testing security, response time, and vulnerability. Folks looking to get up to real mischief need to perfect and practice it some before they get proficient enough to really “blow out the lights” – pun intended. Finally, it’s possible the saboteurs are testing different methods, determining the safest and most efficient way to get the job done.

C: It’s possible the steadily increasing attacks are the result of local actors taking out local grievances. A pair of angry employees or jilted union folk at the plant in question, pissed off Eco-Marxists whose nuisance got suit tossed out of court – or even just some bored teenagers who’d spent a little too much time playing First-Person-Shooters and “borrowed” Daddy’s AR.

Whatever the case, the points that our overlords should be taking away from this:
– The infrastructure in America is wholly undefensible.
– It’s very cold in the winter, and it’s very hot it the summer.
– It’s difficult to maintain a quasi-police state without electricity.
– It’s going to be near-impossible to maintain their tyranny if they can’t even keep the lights on.

However, as folks have pointed out, Sauron’s minions are either too stupid to realize the above facts, or they’re arrogant enough to think they can maintain control in spite of it. Yes… yes… we are being “ruled” by unrealistically overconfident idiots.

What could possibly go wrong?

So Disgustingly true. Just watch the underhanded dealings and cheating that went on during the last Republican Primary, or “The Honorable” Speaker’s twin tirades over that last several days. These piles of used-dicks loath anyone and everyone with the temerity to call them on their statist bullshit – or those impertinently asserting their natural rights.

As we – and so many others – have been saying for years now, these bastards are nothing but pigs at the trough. The Republicans don’t give a good-God-damn if they are steering the good ship Mont-Blanc or sitting in the ready-room – so long as they still get to be on the bridge. They like the bennies, the perks, the cocktail parties and the pension plan. Leading is hard work anyways, better to sit back, be a permanent minority party sheltered in little red enclaves, and lavish themselves with goodies on the whip-licked back of the tax-payer.

These career politicians quite obviously do not fear we the people enough. That is a very unfortunate situation. One that will be rectified in the coming years without a radical course correction.

Suffice to say, given the current track record, our confidence in the ship’s navigator hovers somewhere between zero and negative infinity. That’s fine. The Peasantry will take matters into their own hands eventually. Might be a bad day to be ol Captain Le Medec when that happens. No tears here for justly stretched necks. None at all.

You’d want to take the batteries out of the phones except when you were actually sending yourself a message, and drive somewhere far away from your house or office when you send. *I* can’t help it if you drove over to the cell tower nearest the local federal building, or international airport, and I’m certainly not responsible if you sent such a conversation to, for example, a US Embassy where the odds it’s being tape-recorded in real time are about 100%.

But I will remind you that making discernible terrorist threats is a crime, and that security cameras record facial features and license plates, which a halloween wig and sunglasses, public transportation, and half an hour reading spy-biz tradecraft from a Barnes and Noble book generally thwarts.

And don’t, under any circumstances, send Arabic conversations containing key phrases to voicemail accounts at places like the Southern Poverty Propaganda Center, See B.S. Nudes, Handgun Disarmament International, or the American Criminal Liberties Union, on the weekends, or at 3AM, when no one’s going to be there to answer their phones in person. Because sending the dung beetles to investigate terror cells among those groups would be…baaaaaaaad.

The “enlightened central planners” infesting the gentry know what’s coming, and you see their battle-space preparation every time some Pigs roll by in their shiny new MRAP. Once this titanic joke of a market “corrects” you will be witness to shit that you’d expect in Greece or Argentina.

Now then – how’s your pantry looking constant readers? Remember the rules – nothing fancy, just what you normally eat – only more of it. If you race down to the Army/Navy Store and deck yourself out with a two year supply of stale Iraq surplus MRE’s, please rest assured that… YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.

Please consider our situation from a prior generation’s perspective:
Was Grandma Edith and ol’Grandpa Joe stocking their home with combat energy bars, Meals Ready to Eat, and Mountain House freeze dried food packets? No, no, and HELL NO. These people went about daily life during a decade long economic collapse and a World War – complete with rationing and continual supply disruptions. They understood the value of a deep pantry, canning, and a big garden from living in a world where the financial system was SHIT – and the grocery stores, (when you were ALLOWED to buy basic necessities), were frequently OUT of them.

Let us not emulate the chowder-heads on “Doomsday Preppers” – simply do as your parents and grandparents did in a civilization where shit had very messily hit the fan. Less web gear, more potatoes, onions, and delicious home cooked food.

Don’t buy anything you don’t normally put on your table – PEROID. DO buy as much as you can reasonably store in your home. Buy it in bulk, buy it on sale, and stack coupons whenever possible. Consider this – food is a fixed expense – one that shall always cost more tomorrow, (for so long as we are ruled by asshole fiat printers anyways). Buying now what you plan to eat next month will save you money.

What do you have to loose? If you listen to us, stock up, and, through some miracle the financial system manages to kick the can a few more years, well… you… saved substantial money on groceries. (We’ll sleep just fine tonight having dispensed this advice).

No downside folks. None at all.
